Project Description: creating a garden of Poinciana trees on the concrete place facing the museum; 20 trees transplanted into sculptured- modular containers, to be distributed around the plazza. Central element - three trees suspended from specially designed lighting posts.
Project History:
1992 first plans, maquette
1993 approval by the director of the museum, committees.
1994 transplanting of Poinciana trees, acclimatization.
Artist Statement: The plan proposes to transform the concrete square into a garden, this with minimal means and without disturbing its existing modernistic architecture. The organic growing units, and the suspended trees which will be placed slightly above the floor, will radiate a feeling of dynamic lightness – a spirit the city of Tel Aviv aims to follow.
