2013-2014: stage I
Key Meanings: Stage I is a preliminary stage which prepared future stages of the project. This stage included conservation of the Byzantine bath-house and installation of electricity and lighting.
Artist Statement: Stage I included : clearing of construction dump, the creation of a service road to the lower level, the construction of a drainage canal, clearing and leveling of the lower level platforms, conservation of the Byzantine bathhouse and its vicinity including the creation of a path with stairs. In addition a main electricity line and lighting projectors were installed.
Stage I of the works at the site started In November 2013 by clearing 800 tons of earth with construction dump. It included also: the creation of a road to the lower level, the construction of a drainage canal, clearing and leveling of the lower level platforms, conservation of the Byzantine bathhouse and its vicinity including the creation of a path with stairs, and clearing the bedrock. In additional an electricity line and lighting were installed at the site, and safety barriers.
